Photography and Editing Ideas

Assalamaualaikum.

Photoshoot is not as alien as it used to be in the 90's. Back then, we used to think that only model used photographer service or the closest idea of a photoshoot is taking a stiff family photo in a studio.

But lately, photoshoot is nothing new. It becomes a common thing because of the rising number of freelance photographer, secondly the ability of people to own a dslr and thirdly the trend where people believe, everything must comes with an official photo.

The price is also affordable. A pre-wedding, wedding or any big event will cost you Rm800 to Rm2000, could be cheaper depends on the photographer. Per hour will cost you around Rm100 to Rm300, again depends on the experience of the photographer. If you work with a well known one, it'll cost you thicker cash.

From a wedding to a graduation or being pregnant, there is a need of getting photographed. The overrated used of "pre" word also contribute to the demand of photography. So no need to hesitate to hire a photographer or simply taking out the camera and experiment a little bit. If you have a free time or able to afford it, Why not? Pictures are valuable. It will go on forever and speaks thousands of story.

So some of you might interested in taking photo but you don’t know how to pose, where to do it, with who. Allow me to share two easy, quick and cheap sources that will give you some ideas and get rid of the awkwardness. Vamos poser!

1. MAGAZINES.

This is suitable for people who love to take fashion concept photo. To avoid exaggeration, doing too much that it outshadows the outfit, you might want to check out some magazines on poses and location. If you do it indoor and planning to pull out vogue kinda pose, you could look up magazine like marie claire or cleo. If you do it outdoor with natural sunlight, patio and everything, might want to check out japanese magazine such as ViVi.  If you are a hijabster, go grab some of Dara, Nur or Hijabista magazines for inspiration.

2. MUSIC VIDEO.

Have you ever see Cher Lloyd expressions in Want You Back? awe by the beautiful sun flare in Ellie Goulding's Burn video or amaze by the beautiful wood setting in Safe and Sound. Yes! The music video nowadays is not like what you have seen from the 90's. It has an artsy feeling combine with dramatic elements. The centre is not always the singer anymore. Sometimes the singer even never appeared. Only expressions and beautiful setting involved. Instead of downloading the mp3, why not go through the music video and grab some inspirations in photo taking and editing.

Yuna in I Wanna Go. Beautiful her.

Lloyd is the best when it comes to facial expression. She pulled out at least 50 different expressions in "Want You Back".

Vintage from Lana Del Ray in Summertime Sadness

Safe and sound setting. Mana aku boleh cari setting macam ni, without booking a flight or emptying my bank account.

That's all for now.  Hopefully this post didn't disappoint you.

Disclaimer: The tips and thoughts are not from the expert. It's merely my own ideas. Thank You.

Farah: Me too. I love a combo of good song and nice video.

Farah Arina: Dear...don't worry, i started off with only digital camera of low resolution. Don't worry, you'll get it one day. U could save some money and ask your parents to top up the amount later.
